We’ve put some real thought into the design and construction of our weighted blankets to harness the effect of a therapy called deep touch pressure stimulation. Previously employed by occupational therapists as a way to soothe and treat anxiety disorders, this therapy provides gentle pressure due to micro glass beads sewn into double-stitched pockets, making up an inner weighted blanket. There’s a small secret to using this therapy for maximum effect. The entire blanket is designed to provide an even weight distribution across your body weight and provide the feeling of a hug. Warm, soft and comforting. That’s the feeling we went for.
Other weighted blankets may add weight, but they also have some construction problems because they do not necessarily use pockets to hold the inner material of the blanket.
